The Old Fashioned isn’t just a drink in Louisville; it’s a piece of our heritage. We invite you to join us for Old Fashioned Fortnight, a city-wide celebration bridging two of our most significant milestones. The festivities kick off on June 1, the anniversary of Kentucky’s designation as the 15th state, and culminate on June 14 in honor of National Bourbon Day.
Once you have visited 3 different participating locations and earned 3 points, you will be automatically entered into our Grand Prize drawing! While three points gets you in the running, don't stop there-- keep exploring the trail to discover new favorite pours and experience the full spirit of the fortnight.

The Old Fashioned is said to have been invented in the late 1800s at the Pendennis Club in downtown Louisville. Tom Bullock, who got his start at the Pendennis Club, holds the distinction of being the first African American to pen and publish a cocktail book. Published in 1917, "The Ideal Bartender" features a recipe for "The Old Fashion" and 172 others.
Painted by Louisville artist, Kacy Jackson, the mural is located on the front windows of Sway restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.
